I have lived in the Henderson residence. It is beautiful, eco friendly, and the large windows let in a lot of natural light. It is easy to cook in as there is a kitchen on every floor. There aren't a lot of storage options in the rooms however. Also, there is never anyone working at the reception desk so you have to go to the residence complex to ask questions or get a new key if you're locked out of your room. Has good security though, was recently updated.

Clean and very convenient. Perfect for the big group we had. Even had room cleaners to keep our stay closer to a hotel rather than a dorm that it is. Not as luxurious as a hotel but the value is hard to beat!

Do not live in uOttawa residences if you are a student. Worst experience. Go in an apartment before even considering coming to residences. I lived in 90U and the school puts you with the opposite person you asked for. (Ex: you ask for a clean roommate, the school puts you with a roommate who has dirty habits). Also to leave the residence is such a hassle, I wanted to leave and literally it was the end of the world I practically would have had to donate an organ to be able to leave. The residences say they want students to be happy but they don't do anything productive to help students to be happy in their living situation which can affect eventually your studies. Everyone who I know in residence who came and had to be put with a roommate because they did not know anyone is miserable and having problems with the roommate. The whole housing services at uOttawa needs to be flipped over and redone. The employees do not take their job seriously, when I went to get help I arrived at the offices and nobody was working they were all laughing with each other and even continued to laugh when I was speaking to them. It is not professional nor is it acceptable. The residences is noisy 24-7 literally. Last time I had a decent amount of sleep was the day before I moved into residence. I do not recommend whatsoever to live in the residences. I regret coming here everyday and cannot wait to leave and live in a nice apartment with my best friend.

I had the unique experience of staying in the exact same room (on the 18th floor) one year apart. More on that. These rooms are student residences and they're quite good for that purpose, or perhaps for work/conference trips if you are forced to have a roommate. They're also good if you're staying with a family, adults in one room and kids in the other room. Bring an ethernet cable if you want to bring your laptop, the internet speeds are VERY good. The wifi works as well, but is not as reliable or fast, but good enough for Netflix or whatever streaming you use. The desks are excellent to work on and are large, with three sets of power outlets. There's a small TV on the dresser. The beds are clean and the floors are clean as well. The kitchenette has a microwave, a full size fridge, a large sink and lots of counter space as well as a square table. The bathroom has a shower, lots of towels that (usually) get replaced and some nice hotel soaps. The air conditioning was cold and quiet. Now I mentioned I was in the exact same room as last year. This year I noticed quite a bit of wall damage from kids sticking up posters. I also found snot on the wall close to one of the beds. Yep, bits of snot. I carry baby wipes / bleach wipes for occasions like this. I didn't bother to tell the staff about this one, it's not worth it. Desk service is kind of non-existent but the room does get refreshed, which is fine. Being Canada 150, we paid 25% more than regular price, almost double what we paid last year (which was 33% off). Parking was also more expensive. Despite this, it was still worth it and cheaper than any other non-ghetto option. Next time we're in Ottawa it's likely we'll stay here again, especially when prices go back down. I'm not willing to pay for a boutique luxury experience while traveling with kids, so 90u fits the bill. Also the location is a short walk to everywhere we wanted to be (Loblaws, laundromat, restaurants, the Market, Parliament, attractions) and underground parking is a couple of minutes away. I give the package a very solid 3 and a must stay if you can get a discounted rate.

I've stayed here for a conference a couple of times in the past, and the room experience has been pretty good each time. The 20th floor rooms have private bathrooms, a TV, fridge, desk, and decent Wi-Fi. My two complaints are that the mattresses are unusually firm, and that you have to pay for your entire stay upfront, and not at the end like a typical hotel.
